Judges 6:12 When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
Warrior: a person engaged or experienced in warfare; soldier; A person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness.
Battle: To fight; To force or accomplish by fighting, struggling, etc.; A hostile encounter or engagement between opposing military forces.
You were built for battle!
Psalm 18:39 You armed me with strength for battle
If you don’t know you’re in a battle, you’re losing.
Matt 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Matt 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
1 Cor 9:26-27 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

The first battle Gideon had to fight was the battle within and how he saw himself.
God uses no one greatly until He first changes the way they see themselves.
It’s never too late to be who you might become!

Gideon struggle to respond to the assignment God was calling him to.
5 times Gideon question God before accepting the assignment:
Vs 13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?
Vs 15 “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”
Vs 17 “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me.”
Vs 36-37 Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised— 37 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.”
Vs 39 “Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece, but this time make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew.”
Prune: To rid or clear of anything excessive or undesirable; to remove anything considered unnecessary.
John 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Heb 10:9 He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Christians who don’t contribute become critical.
Vs 4 “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”
Faith is developed best when it’s up against something.
Vs12 Now the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east were lying [camped] in the valley, as countless as locusts; and their camels were without number, as numerous as the sand on the seashore.
Deut 20:1 When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.
Having the Word hidden in our heart builds our faith!
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Psalm 44:5 Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes.
Faith creates the atmosphere that miracles require to take place.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Vs 16 Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all of them, with torches inside.
The Lord didnt send Gideon and his 300 men to war with military weaponry. He sent them with trumpets and torches.. music and fire.. worship and Holy Spirit!
Vs 18 When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, then from all around the camp blow yours and shout!
Vs 22 When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords.
